MAX VERSTAPPEN’S father has joined the collision row between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen by calling the Brit's driving unacceptable.

Before being released, the 2021 season leader was taken immediately to the hospital for further checks.

Father Jos, however, has slammed Hamilton’s driving and slammed the 10-second penalty that the eventual race winner received.

Jos Verstappen said to De Telegraaf, "It's not acceptable what [Hamilton] did."

"I find a 10-second penalty ridiculous. They should have disqualified him.

Max gives Max space and is right in front of Max. The inside can't be overtaken."

After Hamilton won the race, Son Max called Hamilton 'disrespectful' while Max was still in hospital.

Vestappen stated, "Glad that I'm okay. I was very disappointed to be taken out like that.

"The penalty we are given doesn't help us, and it doesn't justice to Lewis's dangerous actions on the track.

"We move on, but it is rude and unsportsmanlike to watch the celebrations while we are still in hospital."

Hamilton, who was subject to racist abuses in the wake of the race, tried to calm down by sending Verstappen his best wishes.

The Mercedes ace refused an apology for his racing style and celebrations before home fans.

Hamilton replied, "Today is reminder of the dangers involved in this sport.
