Ralf Schumacher says that LEWIS HAMILTON has made a commitment to Formula One, having given up his love life in order to pursue winning world titles.
The 46-year-old German told the Brit that Hamilton's dog Roscoe is his main life partner, but that there was no need to change anything.
Roscoe, Lewis Hamilton's beloved dog, is often present at the circuits with him.The 36-year old is aiming for an eighth world championship, which would surpass the record of Michael Schumacher (brother of ex-racer Ralf).
Schumacher said in Bild: "Lewis loves Formula One.
"I don’t see him with a partner in his life, except for his dog.
"If you live your life as he does, there's no reason to change. Even more so when you win.
"It is a strange feeling to suddenly wake up as a race driver and not have a planned year.
"I believe Lewis also wants to break my brother’s world championship record, which is seven titles."
Hamilton's relationship with Nicole Scherzinger, a long-term singer, ended in 2015. He has kept his private life secret since.
Hamilton, like many F1 drivers, has a family, as Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel.
In 2019, he stated that athletes should have the right mindset and find the right balance between how committed they are and relaxing and enjoying their quality time. It's different for every person.
"But, having talked and read about athletes from different sports, it's evident that it's quite similar for us all.
"There are people who manage it. Look at Seb. Many athletes have happy lives behind the scenes.
"But I find it extremely difficult. Your goal is to be as competitive and as successful as possible.

"Ultimately, you want 100 percent commitment because you don't want to be less committed than the person right next to you."
"There is only so much you can give to everyone. It all depends on how big a sacrifice that you are willing to make.
Schumacher urged Hamilton not to quit racing, while he is at the top of his game.
The reigning champion, who won the British Grand Prix at Silverstone in controversial fashion, is now only eight points behind Max Vertappen in drivers' standings. He is also contracted until the end of 2023.

Schumacher also noted that it is better to race longer and then stop, rather than stopping early and starting a comeback.
"Lewis is still completely in there, still speed.
"One should ask Kimi Raikkonen why he is still driving at 41." His greatest moments have been behind him for a very long time."
